NEFEC's Regional Principal Leadership Academy (RPLA) is the state-approved pathway for leaders in NEFEC districts to earn their Level II Florida School Principal Certification. Candidates must hold a valid Florida Educator's Certificate in educational leadership, administration, or administration and supervision; be employed in a public school within the district in a leadership position where the candidate can demonstrate the competencies associated with the FELS as prescribed in Rule 6A-5.081(c)4; and have earned highly effective or effective under 1021.34, F.S.
NEFEC's RPLA is a 120-hour program that uses a blended learning model with three components: 1) a Moodle online course, 2) one virtual orientation meeting, 3) three virtual check-in sessions, 4) job-embedded mentoring, 5) field experiences, and 6) an inquiry project. All program components must be completed within the established timeline for the RPLA program to receive certification.
This program aims to serve the district as the training ground for individuals seeking school principal certification. RPLA uses a blended model to deliver professional learning to certification-seeking candidates recommended by their district superintendent. The structure allows the district to identify and mark the skill sets of individuals in the district's succession plan for school principals. Secondly, this program aims to improve student achievement in the district by increasing the number of high-performing school leaders.
Purpose of RPLA:
1) Increase the pool of potential certified school leaders for principal vacancies.
2) Ensure the pool consists of leaders focused on the academic success of all students.
3) Recruit, retain, and train experienced principals to mentor others and provide on-site, job-embedded inquiry that increases the academic success of all students.
4) Build a self-sustaining structure for leadership support.
PLuS (Professional Learning Support) is NEFEC process for implementation and collection of implementation artifacts.
Clinical Educator Training is a requirement by Florida Statutes and FLDOE for educators who will serve as mentors for beginning teachers or teacher candidates in a supervised field experience or internship. The NEFEC Clinical Educator Training is a 20-hour program that uses a blended learning model with three components: 1) a Moodle online course, 2) one face-to-face session, and 3) a job-embedded Mentor Cycle.
This course is for new teachers attending the New Teacher Network and will act as a place to hold all of our documents and allow teachers to upload any examples of work!
